Extraordinary Journey
Over the last five years we've had numerous discussions about the nature of transgenderism. Much of it centered on the differences between crossdressers and transsexuals. We identified as crossdressers who were trying to figure out why transsexuals were different. We got to know several transsexuals, and became good friends with a few. They were so much like us in many ways, but somehow different in others. Gradually we came to the realization that there are not any distinct differences between the various expressions of transgenderism. Over the past five years, we have found ourselves evolving from what we thought were crossdressers to what we believe are transsexuals. Now that we have matured in our understanding of transgenderism, we realize that any description of crossdressing behavior that tries to limit people to different categories is just not operative.
Now we find ourselves moving to a new understanding and expression of our own transgender natures. She is now on hormones and well into transitioning to living full time as a woman. I've made the decision to continue my mostly male existence. Together we have shared the same extraordinary journey of discovery, and come to the same understanding of our nature. While it seems that we have made very different decisions, we are still very close friends because we know we still share the same heart about our transgender nature.
All of this occurred in the five years I have been your Editrix. Now that I have come to a deeper understanding of my own nature, I feel it is time for me to move on. This is the last issue of The Wild Rose of the Chesapeake that I will be editing. My thanks to Barb Van Horn for coming on board as co-editrix and making The Rose a really great newsletter! I'll still be around, and make my contributions from time to time, but for now it is time for me to say thanks for allowing me to share my own extraordinary journey with you through The Rose.
This newsletter is a labor of love for of our contributing editrixes.
