Rosemary & Theresa's Dignity Cruise by Rosemary McQueen

We boarded the trolley car again and returned to Julia Street then walked to the hotel. After breakfast on Saturday, the 24th we shuttled to the Julia Street Wharf and boarded the ship after passing through Security. The boarding was much quicker and easier than it was to board the Victory in Miami one year ago. We found our stateroom and was surprised with how large it was. Theresa is handicapped and was allowed a larger stateroom.

Unfortunately, we missed Dr. Peggy Rudd's cocktail party. For the few who do not know who Dr. Peggy Rudd is, she is the first wife to write about her CD husband in a book entitled "My Husband Wears My Clothes" back in 1988. Peggy is a friend of Theresa and gave her a signed copy of her book entitled : "Love Calendar: The Secrets of Love".

We had our first meal in the Windjammer Room, which is located on the 9th deck in the forward part of the ship. This cafeteria-style dining room extends from the Port side and around to the Starboard side. This dining room was open from early breakfast until dinner. That evening, we found our assigned table in the Dining room and met the six other people in our group. The other members of the Dignity Group sat at nearby tables. We also met our waiters including the headwaiter. The Dining Room encompassed both the 4th and 5th decks with a balcony surrounding the 5th deck and a large staircase at one end.

The next day, Sunday, was at sea and in the morning the CD's met in Melanie's suite and the wives met in the Conference room. At the CD meeting, led by Melanie, each sister told about her own Cross Dressing experience. Another meeting was held on Friday where most of the discussion was about a Comedian who made derogatory remarks about our group such as we should be thrown off at Key West. He was very ignorant about Transgendered people.

The ship arrived at Cozumel, Mexico in the morning. At Cozumel Theresa and I visited a nearby shopping center where the first thing that I did was to have a Cerveza at a small bar and spirits store. Theresa bought some T Shirts for our grandsons before we returned to the ship for lunch. That evening we attended a show in the ship's theater before having dinner. Except for that Comedian who made derogatory remarks about our group, the shows were great.
