Five Very Special Dresses  by Rosemary McQueen

The next dress that I ordered from the catalogue was a violet cotton dress with a dropped waistline and short sleeves. It is below the knees in length and a self-belt ties in the back with a bow. It has a lace collar that forms a V from the shoulders to below the bust.

The third dress that I bought was a white Communion Dress that has little flowers embroidered on a white background with white satin thread. It has a white veil too.

The next dress that I bought was a present for me so my wife and I went to the girl's department of a large department store. It seemed so exciting to go over to the rack of girl's dresses and select one that is my size. I chose a dress that had a full bouffant skirt. The skirt has a white background with a black flower print. The top is black with short sleeves and a small white flower on the neck. A wide, white satin belt ties in the back in a large bow. I wear black shoes with this dress.

The last dress like this that I bought is a "slip dress" that has it's own silky blue slip and the transparent dress slides down over the slip. It has a pastel print of long stem roses with green stems and little leaves. I wore this to Marsha's lawn party in August of 2002 and with it I wore a pink Simarray Straw hat that is draped in organza with a large back bow.

When I wear any one of these dresses with a satin hair bow while playing with my dolls I am in ecstasy and feel like a little sissy girl! I then have to return to reality and the more mundane things of life.
